Stone Tablets Ministries Newsletter - January 2000

Dear friends, we at Stone Tablets are excited about sending you our first newsletter. We hope that this quarterly newsletter will help each of you in your personal witnessing for Jesus as well as a way that we can let you know how God is using our Ministry. You are receiving this newsletter because you either joined our STM Evangelism Team or requested our "Free" tract. Please email us if you do not wish to receive this newsletter.

WebTracts (Web pages that work like tracts.)

I wanted to start off talking about our WebTracts Ministry. By Gods grace we have been able to add three new WebTracts in the past two months. "Virtual Kingdom Hall" for Jehovah's Witnesses, "Pro-Choice" which is truly about abstinence, and "Was Jesus the Son of God, or a Liar or a Lunatic?" which is for Atheists.

Our "Eyes" WebTract continues to get the most hits. We have seen an average hit count of over 100 hits a week and at lease one third of the visitors read all four pages. The most exciting part is that ten percent go to our page where they are shown how to accept Jesus as Savior!

We have added a Testimony page to keep track of how WebTracts are effecting people and being used by God. If you are not using WebTracts, we ask you to visit www.stonetablets.org/webtracts.htm. These are one of the most powerful evangelism tools on the web.

Holiday Tracts

I hope that you had a wonderful Christmas season. What a wonderful time to share our faith. I know of no other time that people are more open to spiritual things. I had a great time this year passing out Christmas tracts at a local mall. I got a few friends together and over a two-day period we walked around the mall and handed out about 200 tracts. We would simply walk up to a person and say "Merry Christmas" and hand them a tract. No one turned us down and almost everyone smiled and said thank you. The most rewarding part was to see them reading the tracts a few minutes later! So Easter will be here soon. I urge you to pickup some Easter tracts and hit the mall. It is a great way to sow seeds.

 Use the Ten Commandments

Our Ministry is based on the belief that there is awesome power in using God's law in witnessing. We live in a day and age when people do not believe in sin. So telling them that Jesus died for them means nothing to them. We must first show them that they have sinned against a Holy God and not just wronged another person. Our "Free" tract is an example of how to use the Ten Commandments in witnessing. You can find more on how to use the Ten Commandments in our World Wide Witnessing www.stonetablets.org/www.htm pages. When you do this you will be amazed on how it breaks down their defenses and opens their heart.

 Changes

Please note two major changes that we made to our site. We changed the URL of one our most popular WebTracts. It is our "Road to God" WebTract. The new address is www.stonetablets.org/road.htm. We felt that the old name www.stonetablets.org/directions.htm was too long for people to type and seemed a bit pretentious. We created a copy with the old name that will be available until March. Please update your bookmarks.

On our "Free" tract we invite the person to visit "SEEKER." This page has been renamed to "Freedom" and greatly improved. The address is www.stonetablets.org/freedom.htm. The name "Seeker" seemed to turn people off.

Our new mailing address (Low Tech)

We are excited about the new low-tech way for people to contact us. We now have a mailing address that we plan to have printed on future tracts and other printed materials. This way people that do not have email can contact us for more information on how to become a Christian or how to rededicate their life to Christ. Our new mailing address is:

I hope that you enjoyed this newsletter. Please email me at stm@stonetablets.org with any comments about this newsletter or our Ministry. I pray that God blesses your personal witnessing.

Stone Tablets Ministries Newsletter - April 2000

Dear friends,

It has been an awesome three months since we sent out our first newsletter. We are now receiving requests from all over the world for our "Free" tract. In addition we have published a new tract called the "Sign" tract. We just thank God for all of you that have a passion for the lost and are willing to hand out tracts.

You are receiving this quarterly newsletter because you either joined our STM Evangelism Team, requested our "Free" tract, or we wanted to introduce our ministry to you. Please email us if you do not wish to receive this newsletter.

A Wonderful Time of the Year!

Easter and Christmas are the two times in the year that most people are open to talking about Jesus. We must use this time to reach the people around us. Many people think that Easter the time a bunny hides eggs or when they get a lot of chocolate. As you know, for us as Christians this is the time of year that makes Christianity different from all other religions. We make the claim that, unlike Confucius, Mohammed, and Buddha our Savior is alive! He has risen!! This makes all the difference in the world and the world needs to know that. So get yourself some Easter tracts or simply ask someone you know "What do you think Easter is all about?" You may be surprised by the answer but it will give you a chance to tell them about Jesus and what He did for them. A few friends and I will be visiting a Retirement Home and handing out hugs, gifts, and Easter tracts to the residents. Please pray that we can reach some of these elderly people for Christ.

The "Sign" Tract

Our second tract is here! This tract is designed for all the people that are waiting for some unbelievable sign from above before they come to God. It has the words "Waiting For A Sign" on the front with a picture of a sign that states "HERE IT IS!" The message on the back uses the Ten Commandments to show the seeker that they should turn to God today and not wait. You can see the tract at www.stonetablets.org/free.htm. We sent out samples of these tracts with the packs of the "Free" tracts and had positive feedback. One person sent us this message:

"Just received the card, Looking For A Sign, This is the greatest little witness card that I have seen."

Out of Tracts?

Have you used up the pack of "Free" tracts that we sent you or would you like a pack of our new "Sign" tracts? If so we would like to continue to be a resource to you. Just print this letter, cut off the bottom and check off which pack of tracts you would like us to send you. We just ask that you include a self addressed stamped envelope to help us defray some of the cost.

The Power of the Internet

I wanted to share with you something that happened to me a few weeks ago. I was talking to a group of people and one of the ladies told us not to eat anything from KFC. She said that they were using chickens that do not have a head, feet, or feathers. Genetically engineered this way and kept alive by tubes. She had heard this from someone that had heard it from someone that got a letter from a nurse. From a nurse so it must be true!

When I heard it...I laughed. She got mad and we dropped it. (Not a very Christian way to handle it!) Later I heard the same story from someone else. It had gotten all around this group. One person had not eaten chicken for over a month...any chicken! He truly believed this story and said to me "You can't prove it is not true!" So I went out on the web to a hoax web page and found it. There is a hoax email being sent around about KFC chickens. Someone's wife is a nurse got this email from the Head Nurse at her hospital. A Head Nurse!

Anyway, I printed off the hoax page and I think that everyone is now okay with chicken! This made me think of the power of the Internet. People seem to believe anything that is on the Web. It is much like TV..."They would not be allowed to say it if it were not true." Think about it...I did not need to take these people to the KFC chicken farm. All I did was give them another document from the Internet and they believed it.

There are so many "Hoaxes" and "Myths" out there...Atheism, Mormonism, Jehovah's Witnesses, Islam, pro-choice, porn, etc. We can and should use this power of the Internet for the Truth. This experience has proved to me that using things like our Webtracts and emailing people is a wonderful way to spread His truth. We need to use the web for God! Our Webtract page is www.stonetablets.org/webtracts.htm

Changes

Please note that our "Road to God" WebTract new address is www.stonetablets.org/road.htm. The old name www.stonetablets.org/directions.htm has been changed to point to the new URL. Please update your bookmarks.

I hope that you enjoyed this newsletter. Please email me at stm@stonetablets.org with any comments about this newsletter or our Ministry. I pray that God bless your personal witnessing.

Stone Tablets Ministries Newsletter - July 2000

Dear friends,

We hope that you are having a wonderful and fun filled summer. The summer is a great time to invite neighbors over for a BBQ and maybe share your faith. In this newsletter we will go over some other ideas that you may want to use during this time of year.

Over 150 Packs of Tracts Sent!

Praise God! We recently mailed out our 150th pack of free tracts! These tracts are being used all over the world, in countries like The Netherlands, Singapore, Malaysia, and India. Please pray that the Lord continues to use these tracts to reach the lost and bring up laborers to hand them out.

A New WebTract

Incredible and awesome…the best WebTract we have ever published! It is called "Poem to a Friend." Well…I must admit that I am a bit biased on this WebTract because my wife Leslie wrote the poem. She has written several poems for her friends but all have been very specific to that person. This one is more general and the first time I read it I knew that God could use it to reach the lost!

Truly, it is a very powerful poem that is written in a very loving and non-offensive way. Leslie uses the Law to help people realize their need for the Savior. It can be sent to friends that are not sure about their faith as well as the unsaved. Simply cut/paste it into an email or send the URL. I must say that I am very excited about the potential of this WebTract to reach people for the Lord. You can find this WebTract at www.stonetablets.org/poem.htm

A New Look

We have changed the look of our Front Page to make it easier to navigate. There are now four sections to choose from. They are Web Evangelism, Personal Evangelism, Christian Links, and a Who are We section. We split out the two types of Evangelism because using the Web for the Lord is catching on in the Christian community and will help us to focus in helping Christians that want to use their PC for the Lord. Personal Evangelism is still the core to our ministry and now we can expand on teaching new ways to use the Law and tracts when witnessing. The "Who are We" section was written because we received emails from people asking what we believe in and what we do. These are important questions when aligning with a ministry. We hope that these pages will answer everyone's questions.

You got the Keys!

We have received emails asking for printed Evangelism training materials that can be used at Bible studies. With God's grace we will have this kind of training available next year but until then we have made our "Keys to Witnessing" pages available to be printed to your printer. We have a special page that has no background colors or other graphics. This makes it printer friendly so you can print it from your browser. You can find it at www.stonetablets.org/printkeys.htm

Summer Fun

The summer gives us many opportunities to reach the lost. Make the most of everyday this summer. Soon winter will be here and you may not see your neighbors for six months. Here are some ideas that you may want to try:

  • Have a car wash with your church. Do not ask for donations. When the person asks how much for the wash…Say there is no cost except that you would like them to promise to come visit your church one Sunday.
  • It is HOT very hot some days. A water stand by a park can be very inviting. Set up a stand and hand out free water. You could have tracts there to hand out with the water or just wait for someone to ask why you are doing this. Smile and tell them about how Jesus is working in your heart.
  • Late evening is a refreshing time to take a walk around the neighborhood. As you walk remember to pray for each house you see. Pray that the Lord will bring salvation to the entire house and use you if it is His will.
  • The BBQ idea is a powerful idea but only if you really want to get to know your neighbor. In fact try not to bring up anything Christian the first time you meet. The neighbor may feel that he or she is being trapped and was invited over just to push your religion on them. First earn the right to witness by becoming a friend first. You may be surprised to find them asking you what this Christian stuff is all about!

I hope that you enjoyed this newsletter. Please email me at stm@stonetablets.org with any comments about this newsletter or our Ministry. I pray that God will bless your personal witnessing.

Stone Tablets Ministries Newsletter - October 2000

Dear friends,

The fall is here and with it comes cooler nights, leaves changing color, and the anticipation of the holiday season. Thanksgiving is a little over a month away and then comes the celebration of our Savior's birth! These are wonderful times to have fellowship with fellow Christians but it is also, I believe one of the best times of the year to share our faith with the lost.

Many people today celebrate Thanksgiving but do not know who to be thankful to. We can help them understand the true meaning of Thanksgiving with a tract or simply offering to pray at the dinner table with an unbelieving friend. Of course, we also have the same challenge at Christmas. We need to make sure that everyone we meet understands the reason for the season.

There is one "holiday" that I have not yet talked about and before I do I would like to tell you a story. A man once asked the question "What is a Puritan?" Another man answered and said, " A Puritan is someone that has the uneasy feeling that someone somewhere may be having fun."

Now I am not sure if this story is the best way to describe a Puritan but I am sure that it does not describe the people here at STM. We believe that enjoying life is part of God’s plan for us. I also believe that we are expected to honor Him while we are enjoying the blessing that He has given us. So please read this newsletter with an open and prayerful heart as we discuss Halloween and the special opportunities it will give us to reach the lost.

 Sex Has Competition!

It is no secret that the people in the media use sex to sell their products and persuade people to watch their shows. It would appear that they are now looking to another source to draw viewers. As I look over what is on TV and in the movies it would appear the new source is Witchcraft and the occult. So from Buffy to Sabrina, the Teenage Witch to Charmed to the next episode of the "Blare Witch Project" it is obvious that the occult is hot. I recently read an article on how becoming a Witch is the number one ambition of many of today's teenage girls!

I believe this is true because as I was doing research for our new WebTract I came across an article on a professing Witches web site. The article was addressed to all the young women that have been emailing her about spells. She was getting so many emails from these girls that she wanted to let them know what they were truly asking for. She said that if they really wanted to accept this religion as theirs then she would help them but otherwise this is not just fun and games and to leave her alone. The occult seems like fun to the world but the Bible is very clear about Witchcraft. We need to shine God’s light on how the occult is becoming common place in our culture. What better time then during the Halloween season?

 A New WebTract

Our newest WebTract is called "The Halloween Story." It is our most animated WebTract to date. The last page that talks about the power of Jesus opens like a bright light pointed straight at the viewer and the music changes from macabre to angelic. The story is set in a small town where a young teen named Bobby is pulled into a group of boys that are Satan worshippers. Through his love for Jesus he is able to pull out of the group before it is too late. This WebTract is great for youth ministry or simply anyone that is into Halloween. You can find it at www.stonetablets.org/halloween.htm

We also created a text version that can be cut and pasted into an email or simply printed and read at a youth gathering or handed to a friend. www.stonetablets.org/hallowemail.htm

STM Community Page

We have created a new section of our web site dedicated to you, our STM friends. It will be a place to share information and ideas. The first area that we added was a "Topics Bulletin Board." Periodicity we will change the topic to keep it fresh and relevant. We would like to hear from you on what kind of topics you would like to discuss. After all it is your area! Please email us with your ideas at stm@stonetablets.org. You can find the Community Page at www.stonetablets.org/community.htm

Halloween Witnessing

This time of year offers many opportunities for witnessing our faith. I would like to mention a few ideas that I hope you can use to reach the lost during this Halloween season.

* There are special Halloween tracts that are written for children and have a game or puzzle on it. Simply hand out one of these tracts to anyone that comes to your door.

* My family and I go to our church while the neighborhood kids are trick or treating. We put a small table out by our front door. On the table we put out a bowl of candy that have scripture on the wrapper. Around the bowl we put Halloween tracts. Every year when we come home all the candy is gone and maybe one tract is left!

* I have heard about a man that dresses up as the Grim Reaper and hands out tracts at a popular place in town. He uses a tract that has the Grim Reaper on the cover. People think that it is just a Halloween thing. You and some friends from your church can take turns and do the same thing. You can dress up as Moses or Daniel and hand out tracts or little Books of John.

* Many churches have a "Fall Festival" to give the community an alternative to Halloween. A great idea that I have heard is to charge admission to get in unless you bring an unchurched friend. This makes it an outreach and not just a Christian only party. These festivals are great but unfortunately few churches seem to really use it as a time to teach the children about Jesus and why He would not like Halloween. The kids can have fun but at least make sure they leave with a Halloween tract or something that their unbelieving parents may read.

 No Advertising

In this newsletter I wanted to make a special point. We currently have no outside advertising on our web site. We feel that the Lord will provide all our needs and have no intention on filling our pages with advertising. I am saying this so that no one has reason to believe that our WebTracts are meant as a means to pull people to our web site and therefore increase hit counts. I believe that WebTracts are a powerful and easy way to use the web for evangelism.

I hope that you enjoyed this newsletter. Please email me at stm@stonetablets.org with any comments about this newsletter or our Ministry. I pray that God will bless your personal witnessing.

STONE TABLETS MINISTRIES NEWSLETTER - YOUR EVANGELISM TRAINING SITE!

 Dear friends,

It is hard to believe how quickly time flies.  It seems that just yesterday we were talking about Y2K this or that.   Last year was our first full year as a Ministry and the Lord has truly blessed us with friends like you.  We are truly excited to see what He has in store for us in the year to come.

Early this year we are planning to release the third tract in our free tract series.   It promises to be Red-Hot so keep checking our web page for its release.  We will be sending them to our STM Evangelism Team members as soon as they come out.  We also have a complete Evangelism training program coming out for small groups.  I will talk more about this later in this newsletter.

Your Evangelism Training Site

<>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <><

I recently received a very encouraging message with one of our free tract requests.  In it the person asked if he could use our site as a teaching aid for new witnesses.  I thought that this is exactly what this site is for but somehow I was not getting that message across to everyone.  So we came up with the slogan "Your Evangelism Training Site".  So everyone that visits our site will know that all the information in the site is there for the purpose of training Evangelism. Whether it is to teach a small group or one person.  So please feel free to print off any page that you may think is helpful.  This is the reason that we created a printer friendly version of our "Keys to Witnessing". You can find it at:

What are you listening to?

<>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <><

Can what your listening to help reach the lost?  For years leading up to my conversion, my wife would play Christian music in our house.  Over time I began to like some of it even though I never told her that.  As God worked in my heart I am sure that He used the music to bring me closer to Him.  So I truly believe that music can help to reach people in your house and neighborhood.

Also Christian music is a great way to keep strong in your faith.  It is important as a Christian to take time and think about the music we listen to.  Does the music we listen to build us up or knock us down?  Music is very powerful and it can be used for His purposes if we are willing.

Here are some ideas that I have used that may work for you.

*  When I am out working on the lawn I always have the radio tuned to our Christian radio station or have a tape playing.  The neighbors are almost always out and can hear a song or two.

*  When I drive to lunch with unsaved friends we take turns listening to our favorite radio stations.  Guess what mine is!

*  For dinner parties I try to mix in Christian music with some classical or soft music.  If the crowed wants something faster I put on "Plus One" which sound like "*NSYNC" but is God honoring.

*  When I Bar-B-Q I also have Christian music playing so that my neighbors behind me can hear it.

If you do not have a Christian Radio station in your area then you may want to try the Internet.  Here is a link to thejoyfm.  It is the Christian Radio station in our area.

www.thejoyfm.com

 <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <><

The REACH Program

<>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <><

Over the past year I had an opportunity to visit several churches of different denominations. I found a couple of interesting differences but one thing that seemed to remain the same.  They did not have a structured Evangelism training program.  Most of the time it was something they were looking into but did not know which Evangelism program to choose.  Some may not have had the money to pay for a mass-produced program.  So the Lord put in on my heart to write a training program that would be inexpensive to produce but still be effective.

We are excited to say that our new REACH training program is almost ready!   It is a seven-week Evangelism training program that can be used in small groups as well as personal training.  It starts with explaining why we witness and then talks about using the Law in witnessing.  It includes information on several cults and world religions as well as tools that can be used in witnessing.   We believe it is a complete package. The pages will be non-copyright so that churches can make as many copies as needed.  Our hope is to make the REACH training program free to churches and ministries.

As for now we need your help.  We need 10 volunteers to go through the entire program with a small group in your church.  We will need you to give us feedback on each area of the program so that we can be sure to produce as an effective training program as possible.  If you are interested in volunteering please email us at stm@stonetablets.org Please be sure that you can start the training at your church no later then February 28th.

<>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <><

Please Help Us Spread the Word

<>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <><

We hope that the tracts that we sent you and the information on our web site have helped your ministry and walk with Christ.  If so then we are asking for your help in telling other Christians that you know about us.  We have been looking into advertising our site and it is quite expensive. I would like to give you a few ideas that could help us to help your friends at church and other Christians learn how to witness more effectively.

*  You could have our ministry and web address mentioned in your weekly bulletin.

*  You could contact the person in your church that updates your churches web page.  Ask the person to add our web address to your links page.

*  Christian chat rooms are a great place to tell friends about us.

*  You could write an article for your church newsletter about our ministry and how to find it on the web.

*  Your Minister of Evangelism may be interested in knowing about us.  Give him or her one of our tracts if you still have any.

*  You could contact your local Christian newspaper and let them know about us.

*  This is a bit of a reach but I believe all things are possible with God.  Do you have access to a web robot that automatically updates search engines?   We would appreciate any help you could offer in letting, as many search engines know about us as possible.

<>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <><

15 to 50

<>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <><

Late last year we looked at the hundreds of areas that we have sent tracts to all over the world.  As we looked at these cities and towns the Lord put on our hearts that sending only 15 tracts may not be enough to reach the people in those towns.  So in faith we redesigned our packaging and added some postage.  Now we are sending out 50 tracts the first time anyone requests free tracts!  All subsequent requests are still 15.  We pray that the additional tracts will yield an increased harvest for the Lord.

Lastly we would like to ask for your prayers for our ministry and me and my family.  We are looking forward to a wonderful year ahead serving the Lord and helping you to grow in your witness for the Lord.

 Rick F. Kohnenkamp

STONE TABLETS MINISTRIES NEWSLETTER - YOUR EVANGELISM TRAINING SITE!

This is a very exciting time for us at STM.  In this newsletter I will be talking about a new free tract, a new WebTract and how to pre-order the REACH evangelism-training program.  Our hope is that the Lord will use all of these tools for His glory and that in turn we can help you to witness more effectively.

I want to take this opportunity to thank all of you that have sent us comments and have been praying for us.  You have greatly encouraged us and we ask that you continue to pray for this ministry.  As you know Satan hates witnessing.  Your prayers are so important and as with all prayer, they have been very effective.

The "Better" Tract

<>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <><

I am excited to announce that our new "Better" tract is now available.  It is the third in our free tract series.  As I talk and witness to people I find that many do not have a true concept of Hell.  Just like how people create a god to suit their sins many create a hell where they will be with all their friends and having fun.   As Billy Joel sang…"I would rather laugh with the sinners than cry with the saints."  Many people simply deny the existence of Hell altogether.  It also concerns me that a growing number of rebellious young people look to hell as a heaven.

I believe that this tract would be effective in many areas but specifically could be used in cult and youth ministries.   I pray that our Lord uses it as He sees fit.  The tract is on bright red paper with a rather eye catching statement!  "HELL IS BETTER THAN HEAVEN." It also includes a pudgy little devil offering a promise of a good time for those who join him.  On the back is a straightforward message that reveals that the devil's promise is a lie and asks an important question.  "Do you know if you are headed there?"  Then it goes into God's Law and Grace.  You can see it at: www.stonetablets.org/free.htm

At the bottom of this newsletter we have information on requesting a pack of these or any of our free tracts.  If you are a member of the STM Evangelism Team, then you already have a pack of these "Better" tracts being mailed to you.  If you are not a member, then you can join at: www.stonetablets.org/teamjoin.htm

<>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <><

Grieving WebTract

<>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <><

We recently added a grieving poem to our poem WebTracts.  This Webtract was written by my wife Leslie to help those that are going through the grieving process. It is a very sincere and touching poem that can be sent to family and friends that have lost a loved one.  The poem helps the reader to focus on the only one that can truly help him or her through this difficult time.  You can find it at: www.stonetablets.org/grieving.htm

<>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <><

What is Sloth?

<>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <><

From time to time I will watch parts of a very popular T.V. show called "Charmed."  I feel that it is important to keep up with shows like this to see where the culture is headed.  If you are not familiar with this show then let me just say that it is a powerful advertisement for the Wicca religion.  It has been used over the past few years to pull many young people away from God and into Witchcraft.  The last episode that I watched was about the "Seven Deadly Sins."   One of the characters had the "sin of sloth."  I was not very familiar with this word so I decided to look closer into it and would like to share what I found.

First off, I found that the word is not used in the Bible and that the whole idea of the "deadly sins" is man made.  So I am not going to defend the use of the word or concept of the "deadly sins."  I simply found it interesting that the use of the word has changed over the years and has become almost extinct.  The popular use of the word is to describe someone that is lazy.  This is how it was used in "Charmed."  The original use of the word was spiritual laziness or apathy.  It described a professing Christian that does not spend time in the Bible or reaching the lost or actively fulfilling God's purpose of his or her life.  I am sad to say that this seems to be a good description of many in the church today.  I will leave you with this question: "Could it be that the word has lost its true meaning in our culture because an apathetic church body is exactly what Satan loves to see?"

Pre-Order REACH

<>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <><

I also wanted to let you know about the upcoming release of our REACH evangelism-training program. It is a seven-week program that can be used in Sunday school classes or in one-on-one evangelism training.  It covers "why we witness", " the use of God's Law" and "an overview of cults and world religions."   We created this course to help equip churches and ministries that cannot afford the commercially produced programs.  We will be sending it out free of charge and the pages are non-copyrighted.   You can find out more information at www.stonetablets.org/reach.htm

The program will be available June 4.   We are now taking pre-orders.  This is to help us from running out of copies and therefore delay in sending you a copy.  Unlike the tracts that we send out free to anyone that asks, we are sending the REACH program only to churches and ministries.  To ensure that it will be used, we are asking that a leader within the organization mail a request to us on your church or ministry letterhead.  Please mail requests to:

Share the Victories

<>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <><

Share how the Lord has used you to bring a friend into the Kingdom.   We have a discussion board on your community page were you can share how the Lord has used you.  The current question is "How do you use paper tracts or WebTracts?"  The board is off of your community page at: www.stonetablets.org/community.htm

Lastly, I would like to ask for your continued prayers for our ministry and me and my family: Leslie, Ryan, and Katie.  We are looking forward to seeing how the Lord uses these new witnessing tools in the lives of believers like you.

STONE TABLETS MINISTRIES NEWSLETTER - YOUR EVANGELISM TRAINING SITE!

Dear friends,

I hope that you are having a wonderful summer.  This is a great time to get out and meet new friends at a park or the beach.  It also gives us a good opportunity to share the gospel with these people that our Lord brings into our path.  Of course another great opportunity may be the person living right next door.  Why not invite your neighbors over next week for a Bar-B-Q?  This may not be the time to share the gospel with your neighbor but it will show your Christian hospitality.

We have been very busy over the last few months.  It has been very exciting to send out our first REACH programs and see an increase in free tract requests.  I pray that all the material will be used by our Lord to expand His Kingdom and that He will bless each of you in the process.

REACH Released

<>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <><

The REACH evangelism-training program is now available.  It was very encouraging to see the number of requests we had the first month.  This program took about two years to write and produce and I believe that it is one of the most complete entry-level training programs available.  Best of all by God's grace we can offer it for free.

In case you are not familiar with the REACH program you can find out more information on our web site.  Just go to www.stonetablets.org/reach.htm You will also find how to request a copy for your church or ministry.

WebTracts Work!

<>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <><

Last month our ISP (Integrity Online) was very gracious to allow us to test drive a WEB monitoring tool they are offering their customers.  It allowed us to see how many times a page on our site was being visited.   About a week into using the tool I noticed a large jump in the number of times our Jehovah's Witnesses WebTract was being visited.  I mean it went from 10-20 hits a week to over 100 a day!  I used the tool to research this change and found that one of you had posted the URL to our Jehovah's Witnesses WebTract on a very popular Jehovah's Witnesses web site.  It was on their message board and it got the attention of many Jehovah Witnesses.  Each one that clicked on the URL read about how the Watchtower could not be right when they say that Jesus died on an upright stick.

All I can say to whoever did the posting is GOOD WORK!  This is the way that WebTracts were meant to be used.  I cannot possibly put them on enough message boards to reach all the people on the Web.  Your help is critical and I pray that this example will convince you that Webtracts work and ignite a fire to reach the lost with WebTracts.  You can see all our Jehovah's Witnesses WebTract and all other WebTracts at www.stonetablets.org/webtracts.htm

By the way, their Webmaster removed the posting.  They must not have liked what they read!  I pray that a seed of doubt in the Watchtower was sown in some of the Jehovah Witnesses during the few days the URL was posted.

21 and Counting

<>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <><

I wanted to share with you the ministry of one of our STM friends that has requested tracts from us over twenty times!  Praise God!  She uses our "FREE" tracts in a juvenile detention center.  What a perfect use of this tract.  I am so pleased when I see another one of her requests come in because I know that the Lord is using her and the tracts in powerful ways.

We want to be a continuing resource to you.  When we send out our free tracts we always include an offer to receive more free tracts once you are finished with the ones we sent you.  We send 20 tracts back to you in your SESE.  Why 20?  Twenty tracts plus the envelope and card equal one ounce or the maximum weight of a postage stamp.  At the bottom of this email is a request form.  We truly want to continue to be a resource to you.

The Mixed Option

<>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <><

Recently we added a "Mixed Option" to our free tract offer.  Now people that request our tracts can get a few of each.  This has quickly become the most used option.  Please let your friends who have not already requested tracts from us know about this new option.  As for the people that have already received tracts you can request more as we stated above.  You will see the mixed option on the request below.

A Good Book

<>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <><

I would like to let you know about an excellent book that I just finished reading.  The name of the book is  "Evangelism & The Sovereignty Of God" by J.I. Packer.  He also wrote "Knowing God."  The books publisher is InterVarsity Press.

I have heard many times that Christians do not witness because of the doctrine of election.  This doctrine simply states that God has already chosen the people that will be saved.  Romans 8:29-30 as an example of where this doctrine is derived.  I am not about to defend or denounce this doctrine and neither does J.I. Packer.  He simply denounces the incorrect belief that the doctrine of election means that we need not witness.  He makes the point that it is because God is sovereign that we should witness and witness with more power and enthusiasm.  I urge you to read this book if you have questions about this apparent contradiction or know someone that has questioned it.

Lastly, I would like to ask for your continued prayers for our ministry and me and my family: Leslie, Ryan, and Katie.  We are looking forward to seeing how the Lord uses the REACH program in the lives of believers like you.

Rick F. Kohnenkamp
